FELONIES
Steven Michael Steiner, 49, Monroe, was granted an 18-month deferred prosecution Thursday, July 5, on several felony and misdemeanor charges stemming from accusations that he kicked and broke a door at a residence and taunted a woman inside in the 2000 block of 9th Street in February 2011, that he caused an injury to the same woman during a domestic dispute in December at the same residence, and that he violated a no-contact rule by visiting the same residence in January. He is ordered to undergo counseling and mental health treatment, attend monitoring conferences and pay the court a total of $878. An October charge was dismissed against Steiner of possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
MISDEMEANORS
Pedro Diaz Xoyatla, 27, Monroe, was granted a one-year stay of proceedings Tuesday, July 3, on misdemeanor charges of battery and disorderly conduct. The charges stem from a domestic dispute in the 700 block of 17th Street in November 2011 that caused minor injuries to a woman. As part of his deferred prosecution agreement, he is ordered to have no contact with the woman, pay her restitution for the cost of her ambulance transport to Monroe Clinic and pay a $100 domestic abuse surcharge to the court. He is also ordered to attend domestic violence and behavior counseling or anger management classes and attend monitoring conferences.
