Misdemeanors

- The court Jan 18 entered in to a one-year deferred prosecution agreement with Arnold D. Johanningsmeier, 36, Waterman Ill., who was found guilty due to a plea of no contest for battery.

The court order Johanningsmeier to obtain the necessary treatment and counseling, and to refrain from further violations. The court dismissed one count of disorderly conduct.

Court records indicated Johanningsmeier grabbed a child by the neck with both hands, picked him up and threw him to the ground.

He was charged with battery, a class A misdemeanor. He faced 9 months in jail and $10,000 in fines.

He remains free on a $4,000 signature bond.

- The court Jan. 18 fined Jordan J. Meisch, 18, Davis, Ill., $250 and court costs, after he pled no contest to possession of marijuana.

The case will be expunged upon payment of fine.

Court records indicate Meisch, on or about Sept. 4, 2010, in the Town of Spring Grove, was a passenger in a vehicle where he knew there was 1.8 grams of marijuana.

He was charged with possession of marijuana, as a party to a crime, an unclassified misdemeanor. He faced 6 months in jail and $1,000 in fines.

- The court Jan. 18 fined Zachary S. Cacciatore, 19, Davis, Illl., $250 and court costs, after he pled no contest to possession of marijuana.

The case will be expunged upon payment of fine.

Court records indicate Cacciatore, on or about Sept. 4, 2010, in the Town of Spring Grove, had 1.8 grams marijuana in the vehicle he was driving.

He was charged with possession of marijuana, an unclassified misdemeanor. He faced 6 months in jail and $1,000 in fines.

- The court Jan. 19 sentenced Nichole S. Abaunza, 25, Monroe, to 18 months probation, after she pled no contest to two misdemeanor charges of failing to stop for an officer and obstructing an officer. The court also imposed and stayed a sentence of 120 days in jail. Abaunza was also ordered to pay about $500 in fines and court-related costs; to undergo counseling and alcohol assessment; and to work towards obtaining GED, HSED or High school diploma.

Court records indicate Abaunza, on or about Oct. 4, 2010, in the Towns of Washington and Monroe, failed to stop after having received visual and audible signals to stop from police officers and gave officers a false name and date of birth.

She was charged with failing to stop, an unclassified misdemeanor, and resisting or obstructing an officer, a class A misdemeanor. She faced 18 months in jail and $10,000 in fines.

- The court Jan 19 sentenced Brandon J. Byrne, 23, Monroe, to 12 months probation and ordered him to pay $4,000 restitution, plus court-related costs, after he pled no contest to charges of having sex with a child age 16 or older, a class A misdemeanor. Byrne is to have no contact with the victim.

Court records indicated Byrne, on or about July 28, 2007, in the City of Monroe, had sex with a 16-year-old girl. He faced 9 months in jail and $10,000 in fines.

Byrne may request expungement upon successful completion of all terms of probation.
