Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD — For the week of Nov. 10-16, police performed 34 security checks, 47 citizen assists, 14 assists of other agencies, five follow-ups to incidents and 10 vehicle registrations; responded to 15 calls for service, four EMS calls, one fire call and 17 911 or BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls; and made 16 traffic stops. No mental health or detox transports were reported.

On Monday, Nov. 11:

●  A gas drive-off was reported at 6:25 p.m. in the 1100 block of 1st Center Avenue. Police made contact with the person, who returned to pay.

●  A gas drive-off was reported at 7:23 p.m. in the 1100 block of 1st Center Avenue. It remained under investigation.

On Tuesday, Nov. 12:

●  Police issued 15 citations for violations of the winter parking ordinance.

On Wednesday, Nov. 13:

●  A code violation of an idling vehicle was reported at 3:29 p.m. in the 1100 block of West 2nd Avenue.

On Thursday, Nov. 14:

●  The theft of a dog was reported at 12:36 a.m. in the 400 block of East 5th Avenue. The dog was returned to the owner. No citations were issued.

●  The theft of a license plate was reported at 6:39 a.m. in the 200 block of Juniper Avenue.

●  People smashing pumpkins were reported at 8:37 a.m. in the 2100 block of West 9th Avenue. They were warned.

●  A dog running at large was reported at 9:15 a.m. in the 800 block of 23rd Street. The dog was not located.

●  A dog running into traffic was reported at 6:52 p.m. in the 900 block of West Exchange Street. The dog was not located.

On Friday, Nov. 15:

●  An accident involving one vehicle being backed into another was reported at 3:50 p.m. in the 600 block of East 2nd Avenue. No injuries were reported. A Brodhead man, 18, was cited for driving without vehicle insurance.

●  Police responded to check welfare at 5:49 p.m. in the 1300 block of 19th Street. Contact was made, and it was advised there was a phone issue.

●  A parking complaint of a vehicle believed to be abandoned was reported at 5:57 p.m. in the 900 block of East 2nd Avenue. Contact was made with the owner and the vehicle was moved.

●  Police responded to check welfare at 8:34 p.m. in the 700 block of 17th Street. Contact was made, and it was advised there was a phone issue.

On Saturday, Nov. 16:

●  Police responded to check welfare at 7:55 a.m. in the 1300 block of 19th Street. Contact was made, and it was advised there was a phone issue.

●  Police responded at 2:21 p.m. to check the welfare of people playing on the Race in the 400 block of West 3rd Avenue. They were warned.

●  A Brooklyn man, 31, was cited for for issuing worthless checks.


Monroe Police

MONROE — On Friday, Nov. 15:

●  James W. Rupnow, 72, Monroe, was arrested on a charge of misdemeanor bail jumping after officers were called at 1:43 p.m. for a disturbance at a residence in the 2100 block of 16th Avenue. Officers determined he was violating his court-ordered bond conditions by consuming alcohol. He was jailed.

●  Evodio Francisco-Lopez, 48, Monroe, was arrested during a traffic stop at 10:01 p.m. in the 1000 block of 8th Street on a warrant issued by the Beloit Police Department for driving with a suspended license. He was also cited for driving with a suspended license (eighth offense). After posting bail, he was released pending court.


Green County Sheriff

MONROE — Benjamin A. Affrunti, 43, Monticello, was arrested on a Stephenson County warrant at 5:21 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, in the N5500 block of Wis. 69, Town of Washington. He was jailed pending extradition or bond.

●  Steven A. Steiner, 26, Browntown, was arrested on a Wisconsin Department of Corrections warrant after deputies stopped him for speeding in the W7000 block of County Y, Town of Monroe, at 12:23 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15. He was also cited for speeding. He was jailed.

●  Travis R. Simonson, 46, Orfordville, was cited for disorderly conduct and battery after deputies responded for a report of a disturbance at a residence in the N6500 block of Biggs Road, Town of Adams, at 4:51 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16.


Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON — On Saturday, Nov. 2:

●  Debris in the roadway was reported at 4:37 p.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Belmont.

●  A vehicle lockout was reported at 5:45 p.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Wiota.

On Sunday, Nov. 3:

●  A deputy responded to assist Belmont police with a traffic stop at 1:39 a.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Belmont.

●  Claudia L. Hernandez, 20, Darlington, was arrested on a charge of operating while intoxicated after a deputy responded at 2:35 a.m. to East Wisconsin Avenue, Town of Belmont, to assist Belmont police with a traffic stop. She was released to a responsible party.

●  An animal problem was reported at 3:47 a.m. on South Galena Street in South Wayne.

●  A 911 misdial was reported at 5:29 a.m. on O’Neil Road, Town of Willow Springs.

●  A deputy responded to assist a citizen at 10:05 a.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Shullsburg.

●  A 911 misdial was reported at 11 a.m. on Ferrell Road, Town of Willow Springs.

●  Theft was reported at 11:18 a.m. on Swanson Road, Town of Wayne.

●  An animal injured on the roadway was reported at 1:15 p.m. on School Street, Town of Gratiot.

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 3:39 p.m. on Ames Road, Town of Darlington.

●  A traffic hazard was reported at 3:46 p.m. on Holland Road, Town of Kendall.

●  Torry C. Williams, 18, Winnebago, Illinois, was cited for speeding at 4:23 p.m. on County W, Town of White Oak Springs.

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 4:53 p.m. on Keep Street in Darlington.

●  A disabled vehicle was reported at 6:43 p.m. on County KK, Town of Gratiot.

●  Richard F. McCallister, 33, Darlington, was arrested on a second-offense charge of operating while intoxicated after a deputy responded for a hit-and-run at 6:46 p.m. on County F, Town of Fayette. Traffic signs at the corner of County F and County G were damaged by McCallister’s vehicle. McCallister was also cited for driving without a valid license, operating left of center and hit-and-run on property adjacent to a highway. He was later released to a responsible party.

●  Kelly L. Rux, 58, Linden, was cited for failure to stop for an emergency vehicle and allowing open intoxicants in a motor vehicle at 7:54 p.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Kendall. A passenger, Kim L. Griffiths, 58, Mineral Point, was cited for having open intoxicants in a motor vehicle.

On Monday, Nov. 4:

●  A deputy responded for an alarm at 7:33 a.m. on West Main Street in Benton.

●  Deputies assisted Darlington police with an alarm at 7:38 a.m. on County K in Darlington.

●  A deputy responded for a lift assist at 9:48 a.m. on County W, Town of Monticello.

●  A deputy responded at 1:52 p.m. to County K in Darlington for a prisoner transport.

●  A traffic hazard was reported at 5:30 p.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Belmont.

●  A traffic hazard was reported at 5:49 p.m. on Hickory Drive Road, Town of Belmont.

●  A 911 misdial was reported at 8:30 p.m. on Galena Street in Argyle.

●  A 911 misdial was reported at 12:03 a.m. on West Water Street in Shullsburg.

●  Truancy was reported at 8:24 a.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Darlington. Darlington police assisted.

●  A civil dispute was reported at 10:18 a.m. on Valley Road, Town of Argyle.

●  An animal problem was reported at 12:24 p.m. on County U, Town of Shullsburg.

●  Identity theft was reported at 12:30 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Wayne.

●  A deputy responded at 12:42 p.m. to County K in Darlington for a prisoner transport.

●  An injured deer was reported at 4:50 p.m. on Roller Coaster Road, Town of Darlington.

●  A deputy and Argyle police responded at 5:10 p.m. to 3rd Street in Argyle for bail jumping.

●  An animal injured on the roadway was reported at 11:01 p.m. on County D, Town of Wayne.

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 1:10 p.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Kendall.

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 3:26 p.m. on County E, Town of Darlington.

●  A suspicious vehicle was reported at 6:18 p.m. on Railroad Avenue in Benton.

●  Deputies responded to check welfare at 8:11 p.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Darlington. Darlington police assisted on scene.

●  A vehicle in the ditch was reported at 11:41 p.m. on County XX, Town of Belmont.

On Thursday, Nov. 7:

●  A deputy responded at 7:40 a.m. to County G, Town of Belmont, for a report of a semi’s trailer coming unhooked.

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 7:44 a.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Kendall.

●  Jamie L. Weigel, 27, Belmont, was arrested at 8:17 a.m. after she showed up for an appointment at the courthouse in Darlington. She was wanted for a Lafayette County warrant for nonpayment of child support. She was later released on a $400 cash bond.

●  Suspicious activity was reported at 10:08 a.m. on Jenkynsville Road in Benton.

●  A traffic hazard of debris on the roadway was reported at 1:51 p.m. on County X, Town of Elk Grove.

●  A deputy responded at 2:06 p.m. to Fox Road, Town of Wiota, to assist a citizen.

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 4:12 p.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Kendall.

●  An animal problem was reported at 5 p.m. on County Z, Town of Darlington.

●  A deputy responded to assist Argyle police at 6:05 p.m. on Poplar Street in Argyle. Argyle EMS assisted on scene.

●  Disorderly conduct was reported at 7:15 p.m. on Ballard Road, Town of Willow Springs.

●  An animal bite was reported at 7:44 p.m. on Ballard Road, Town of Willow Springs.

On Friday, Nov. 8:

●  Mary E. Ubersox, 63, Shullsburg, was cited for speeding at 6:26 a.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Benton.

●  A deputy responded at 3:45 p.m. to provide traffic control on County J in Benton.

●  A traffic complaint was reported at 7:23 p.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Elk Grove.

●  Joshua D. Folkerts, 29, Chicago, was cited for speeding at 8:10 p.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Elk Grove.

●  An injured animal in the roadway was reported at 9:01 p.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Gratiot.

●  A deputy assisted Shullsburg police with a complaint of harassment at 9:39 p.m. on East Truth Street in Shullsburg.

●  A traffic complaint was reported at 10:09 p.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Darlington.

●  A deputy assisted Blanchardville police with assisting a citizen at 11:38 p.m. on Curve Street in Blanchardville.

On Saturday, Nov. 9:

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 8:05 a.m. on County Z, Town of Darlington.

●  An abandoned vehicle was reported at 8:59 a.m. on Valley Road, Town of Argyle.

●  Criminal damage to property was reported at 10:41 a.m. on School Street in Blanchardville. Inappropriate things had been written in the dirt and snow on a vehicle, motivated by a grudge.

●  A deputy responded at 11:25 a.m. to provide traffic control on Wis. 11, Town of Shullsburg.

●  An animal problem was reported at 1:29 p.m. on County K, Town of Darlington.

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 1:41 p.m. on County K, Town of Darlington.

●  Suspicious activity was reported at 3:21 p.m. on Ohnstad Road, Town of Darlington.

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 5:33 p.m. on West Mound Road, Town of Belmont.

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 5:46 p.m. on County W, Town of Monticello.

●  Russell J. Herbst, 63, Gratiot, was cited for speeding at 7:08 p.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Seymour.

●  Deputies responded at 7:18 p.m. to Mine Road, Town of Elk Grove, to assist a citizen.

●  A deputy responded at 7:35 p.m. to Riverside Road, Town of Gratiot, to assist a motorist.

●  Trevor T. Monahan, 28, Cuba City, was cited for unnecessary acceleration at 8 p.m. on South Galena Road and Mine Road, Town of Elk Grove.
