On March 19:

● At 11:30 a.m. officers were called to a two-vehicle accident with reported minor injuries in the 100 block of 8th Street. An Investigation indicated that a vehicle operated by Gary W. Sawyer, 74, of Monroe, was eastbound on 8th Street and failed to stop for a red traffic light. Sawyer’s vehicle collided with a vehicle operated by a Freeport, IL man who was turning west from 1st Avenue. Sawyer’s vehicle sustained minor damage, and the other vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed. No citations were issued and Sawyer was transported by Green County EMS for non-life-threatening injuries.
