MONROE - June non-seasonally adjusted unemployment rates rose slightly in Green and Lafayette counties, according to the state Department of Workforce Development.
Green County unemployment rose to 7.9 percent, up 0.1 percent from May, with 75 more people unemployed.
Lafayette County had a 0.8 percent increase to 6.8 percent, and 49 more people were unemployed.
The state unemployment rate was up 0.4 percent, to 8.1 percent.
Green County unemployment rate was offset by an increase of 669 employees in June, while Lafayette County lost 313 people from its labor force.
