NEW GLARUS - A local program is seeking donations to help children in need during the holiday season.
The New Glarus Police Department, in conjunction with the Green County Law Enforcement Administrators' Association (GCLEAA), has endorsed the "Shop with a Cop" program.
All money donated is put into the program. All participants act on a volunteer basis to buy Christmas presents for children and their families.
Monroe's Wal-Mart has participated this year, providing personnel to assist law enforcement agencies, providing snacks to the children, and donating prizes and money to the program.
Those who are interested in donating can make checks out to "Shop with a Cop." For more information, call the New Glarus Police at (608) 527-2145.
