MONROE — For the 35th consecutive year, Monroe Arts Center will exhibit artwork entered in the Wisconsin Regional Arts Program (WRAP) Competition. Artwork will be on exhibit March 18-May 20 in the Frehner Gallery.
WRAP originated as an outreach program of UW-Madison, but is now administered by the Association of Wisconsin Artists in partnership with MAC and is open to non-professional artists who are at least 14 years of age and reside in Wisconsin or neighboring states.
WRAP encourages nonprofessional, student, and emerging artists to create and exhibit their art and to participate in the WRAP competitions and workshops held in various regions of Wisconsin throughout the year. The State Award winners selected from the Monroe exhibit, along with all other 2021-22 winners of WRAP competitions held throughout Wisconsin, will be on display in September at a location yet to be determined. Additional awards and prizes will be given at this time.
All Artwork is due at the Monroe Arts Center between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Friday, March 11, or between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 12. Each artist is able to enter up to two pieces of their artwork.
The WRAP Artist Workshop day will be held from 9:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 21. Further workshop details to be announced soon. For more information, visit monroeartscenter.com/exhibits or call 608-325-5700.
