On July 6:
● At 1:26 a.m., Deputies arrested Ryan T. King, 41, of Argyle for two active warrants in the W7000 block of CTH W, Town of York. King was transported to the Green County Jail pending court.
● At 6:39 a.m., Deputies, Brodhead Fire, and Brodhead EMS, responded to the roundabout intersection of STH 81 and CTH T, Town of Spring Grove, for a two vehicle crash. Investigation determined Skylar R. Klitzman, 24 of Brodhead, was negotiating the roundabout south on CTH T when her vehicle was struck by an eastbound semi, operated by John J. Nelson, 51 of Granville, IA, on STH 81 that was entering the roundabout. Skylar and her passenger were both wearing their seatbelts and sustained no injuries. Skylar’s vehicle sustained functional damage to the rear, passenger side door with no airbag deployment and was driven from the scene. John reported wearing his seatbelt and not being injured. John’s semi sustained cosmetic damage to the front, driver side bumper and was driven from the scene. John was issued a citation for Failure to Yield Right of Way from a Yield Sign.
On July 7:
● At 1:33 p.m., Deputies, along with Monticello Police Department, Green County EMS, Albany EMS, and Albany Fire, responded to the N5100 block of County Highway F, Town of Albany for a single rollover crash with injuries. The vehicle driven by Haide Martinez Merino, 19, of Albany, was traveling southbound when it left the roadway and overturned. The vehicle sustained disabling damage with airbag deployment. Merino and a juvenile passenger were reported wearing their seatbelts and sustained non-life threatening injuries. They were transported to the local hospital. Merino was cited for operating without a valid license, having no insurance, and failure to maintain control of vehicle. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
On July 8:
● At 4:32 p.m., Deputies responded to the W200 blk of STH 81, Spring Grove Township, for a one vehicle accident with injury. Investigation found a vehicle operated by, Shawn P. Ferguson, 35, of Rockford, was traveling east on STH 81, when a deer entered the roadway. Ferguson was wearing his seatbelt, and sustained an injury. The vehicle had airbag deployment, sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.
On July 9:
● At approximately 8:02 p.m., Deputies responded to the W6700 block of County Highway P, Town of Clarno, for a reported motor vehicle accident. Investigations found that a vehicle operated by Jose Vasquez Barrios, 30, of Winslow (IL) was eastbound on County Highway P where he lost control of his vehicle, entered the South ditch, and struck a utility pole. Vasquez Barrios reported injuries and airbag deployment within his vehicle. Vasquez Barrios’ vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Vasquez Barrios was subsequently arrested for operating while under the influence- 2nd offense and cited for failure to keep vehicle under control and possess open intoxicants in motor vehicle-driver. Vasquez Barrios was released to a responsible party pending a future court date.
On July 10:
● At 7:34 p.m., Deputies placed Lonnie D. Severson, 58, of Argyle, under arrest for an active felony warrant, in the N6200 block of Wildlife Rd., Town of Adams. Severson was transported to the Green County Jail pending court.
● At 7:41 p.m., Deputies placed Leon E. Bridges, 36, of Brooklyn, under arrest for violation of his probation/parole conditions. Bridges was transported to the Green County Jail pending court.
On July 11:
● At 5:50 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the W5400 blk of STH 11, Town of Monroe. Investigation resulted in the arrest of the driver, Mason P. Spencer, 39, of IL, for operating while under the influence 1st offense. Mason was transported to the Green County Jail and waited to be released to a responsible party.
● At 7:27 PM, Deputies placed Zachary J. Blackwood, 23, of South Wayne under arrest due to an active warrant at the Green County Sheriff’s Office. Blackwood was booked into the jail until his court date.
