MONROE - The Knights of Columbus announced the winners of its knowledge contest, which was held the week of Dec. 3. Grades 5 through 8 were able to participate in the contest. The winners are as follows.
Grade 5
Math: Logan Leuzinger, first; Katherine Griepentrop, second; and Jessica Schmitt, third.
Spelling: Payton Sawdey, first; Cael Losenegger, second; and Brady Biba, third.
Grade 6
Math: Nick Benkert, first; Gabriel Witt, second; and Gabe Moon, third.
Spelling: Alexis Davis, first; Emily Eliasson, second; and Emily Wardlow, third.
Grade 7
Math: Sydney Mathiason, first; Joseph Crubaugh, second; and Tyler Yaun, third.
Spelling: Josette Ferguson, first; Ashley Placek, second; and Britt Ramos, third.
Grade 8

All first place winners are eligible to advance to the Madison diocesan contest on Saturday, Feb. 23 at Sauk Prairie Middle School. The first and second place winners from each of the five diocesan contests are eligible to participate in the state level competition.
