MONROE — Sue Campbell, BSN, RN, OCN, Oncology Manager at SSM Health Monroe Clinic Medical Group, was awarded the DAISY Lifetime Achievement Award on May 11. She is the fourth DAISY Lifetime Achievement Award recipient at SSM Health in Monroe.

The DAISY Lifetime Achievement Award is given to a nurse with 25-plus years of experience, are leaders in living the SSM Health Mission, mentoring others, clinical practice and showing unparalleled care for patients.

Three individuals nominated Campbell for this award. One nomination shared “her compassionate care and concern for each patient no matter their situation inspires me to be a better person and nurse. She advocates for our team to ensure safe and positive patient outcomes. She always listens to our concerns and pursues solutions to enhance our department to truly live out our mission. Sue’s exceptional care for our team, our patients and families positively impact our clinic and community.” 

Another nominator wrote that “Sue believes that the whole family is part of the care of a patient. She seeks to understand the family dynamics to better understand how to assist. Sue goes above and beyond in helping patients and their families if assistance is needed for food, supplies, rides or additional care. One example is taking an air conditioner to a patient in an upstairs apartment during the heat of summer.”
