MADISON — The Monroe Wrestling Club (MWC) had six grapplers medal at last weekend’s three-day state meet in Madison, including state champion Ellie Treuthardt, winning at 95-pounds for the girls 2014-15 age bracket.
DAY ONE
MWC congratulates our four wrestlers who participated in the first day of the youth state wrestling championships — Blaine Fletcher, our 5th place finisher, Evan Johnson — DNP, Grayson Wallin — DNP and Colton Ladwig — DNP. Your performances on the mat today were impressive and enjoyable to watch. Thank you to the family and friends who supported these talented young wrestlers.
Another Monroe Wrestler, Eli Schmitz placed 3rd (RT Elite); and Forrest Treuthardt DNP (Alber Athletics).
DAY TWO
The 2nd day of the youth state wrestling championships has come to a close, and MWC’s Lincoln Myhre posted a 3-2 record on the day, but DNP. In his first-ever appearance at this level, Lincoln proved to be quite the competitor. His matches were so fun to watch. We expect to see much more from this talented young wrestler in the years to come — and we look forward to it. Well done, Lincoln. We are all very proud of you!
Another Monroe wrestler was Caleb Schmitz DNP (RT Elite).
