Robert (Bob) Raymond Voegeli passed away peacefully on September 1st, 2026, at the UW Hospital in Madison after a two-year battle with leukemia. He was born on March 29, 1942, in Green County to parents Raymond and Gertrude (Rufener) Voegeli.
He married Carolyn Wilde on June 9, 1962, and together they had three children; Jeffrey, Bradley, and Kimberly.
Robert worked at the Janesville General Motors plant for 38 years before retiring in 2007. During his time at GM, he made many lifelong friendships, many of which he continued to cherish throughout the years.
Robert loved being outdoors and riding his UTV with the club. He also had a special Tuesday tradition with his mom – he would pick her up on his UTV and ride to South Wayne together for breakfast. These weekly breakfast dates were a tradition they both looked forward to. Robert also enjoyed breakfast at McDonald’s, where he would reminisce with his buddies, visit with the workers, and always find an opportunity to add some laughter.
Robert was involved in the Brodhead community and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He supported and volunteered with many local organizations and events, including Covered Bridge Days and Take a Kid Fishing Day. Giving back to his community and sharing his passions brought him great joy.
If you lived in Brodhead, chances were good that you would see Robert out and about on one of his John Deere tractors or his UTV. He was a familiar and beloved face in the community.
More recently, Robert moved to Aster Assisted Living, where he was blessed to spend time with his mom. They enjoyed talking, having meals together and watching Brewers games, making treasured memories.
Robert was also fortunate to have wonderful neighbors who became like family. They looked out for one another and were always there to lend a helping hand. Robert had a quick wit, a great sense of humor, and always seemed to have something to say. He had a way of making people laugh and making those around him feel welcome. To know Robert was to love him, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by mother (Gertrude); sons Jeff (Annette) and Brad (Ev Thoman); grandchildren Danielle, Ryan (Tanya), Garrett (Taylor), and Bryce; great-grandchildren Ashton and Brayden; brothers Gary (Sandy), Randy, and Rick (Cindy); sister Debra; special friend Beth Wilde and many nieces and nephews.
Robert is preceded in death by his wife Carolyn; daughter Kimberly; father Raymond and brother Larry.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the UW Carbone Center and Dr. Sahasrabudhe for all the care and attention they gave to Robert.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at the Kelch Aviation Museum in Brodhead, WI, from 1pm – 4pm.
