ALBANY - Both Black Hawk sophomore Natalie Leuzinger and freshman Bailey Butler scored 16 points to lead the Warriors to a 53-23 win over Albany in a makeup game Saturday.
Black Hawk (21-0, 11-0 Six Rivers East), ranked No. 1 in the Division 5 Associated Press state poll, jumped out to a 32-9 lead at the half.
"They created a lot of turnovers with their press," Albany coach Derik Doescher said of the Warriors. "When we got into the half court, we didn't get good looks. They took it to us. They are No. 1 for a reason. They are super talented. A lot of times what gets lost is they are very well coached. If there is a team in the state in Division 5 that can beat them, I want to see it because they must be one heck of a team."
Albany junior Payton Zurfluh scored a team-high 10 points. With the loss, the Comets drop to 8-12 overall and 5-6 in the Six Rivers East Conference.
Albany plays at Benton today and then plays at Juda Thursday.
