Who should be this week's Monroe, Area Boys and Area Girls Athletes of the Week?

Votes can be made by clicking on the side bar poll. If you would like to vote for more than one athlete, e-mail Adam Krebs at sportseditor@themonroetimes.com with your picks. Be sure to include both your first and last name, as well as your hometown. Voting will end Wednesday, Jan. 19 at 5 p.m. and results will be published Thursday, Jan. 20.

Monroe

- Bryan Tordoff, Boys Basketball: Scored a game-high 32 points, and hit eight 3-pointers in a win over Clinton on Jan. 11. Later in the week, the senior scored 16 points in a win over Fort Atkinson on Jan. 14.

- Michael Barrett, Boys Basketball: Had 12 points in a win against Clinton on Jan. 11 and another 25 points in a win over Fort Atkinson on Jan. 14.

- Kylee Ritschard, Girls Basketball: Scored 14 points in a win over Stoughton on Jan. 11 and added 20 in a loss to Monona Grove Jan. 15.

Area Boys

- Dylan Severson, Brodhead-Juda Wrestling: Won the heavyweight title at the Elk Invite in Elkhorn on Jan. 15, pinning all three of his opponents in the tournament.

- Tyler Ritschard, Monticello Basketball: Scored 23 points and hit a buzzer-beating field goal to help the Ponies pick up a conference win against Albany on Jan. 14.

- J.J. Panoske, Brodhead Basketball: The senior standout center hit five 3-points and scored 29 points in a loss to East Troy on Jan. 14.

Area Girls

- Taylor Douglas, Brodhead Basketball: Had seven points in an overtime win over eighth-ranked Belleville on Jan. 11, including the game-winning putback with under a minute to play. On Jan. 13, had 15 points in a win against Clinton.

- Anya Schween, New Glarus Basketball: Scored 17 points in an 88-30 win over Waterloo.

- Lizzy Britt, Pecatonica Basketball: On Jan. 10, the sophomore hit four 3-pointers and scored 16 points in a loss to Darlington. Britt then scored a team-high 11 points in a loss to Juda on Jan. 13.
