MONROE - The Monroe Youth Hockey Squirts (9 and 10 year-olds) won their last two games. Taking the ice at Mandt Park in Stoughton, the Avalanche out-gunned the home team 5-0 in the first period and cruised to a 7-1 road victory.
Jamaar Manor opened the scoring with an unassisted goal and Trenten Prien added another in the third period. Tyler Johnson accounted for the remainder of Monroe's scoring with five goals on two assists from Kobe Manor and one each from Jared Cline and Cade Janecke. Jacob Ritschard recorded 10 saves in goal for Monroe.
The Squirts earned another win on home ice with a 6-3 victory over Sauk Prairie at SLICE. Monroe led the entire game on four goals from Tyler Johnson and one each from Prien and Cammi Ganshert. Cline, and Kobe and Jamaar Manor were each credited with assists. Ritschard preserved the victory in goal by turning back 17 shots.
