The Monroe Parks and Recreation Department is taking registration for Junior and Senior Softball Leagues and American and National Baseball Leagues now through Friday, April 1.
Registration forms are available at the Parks and Recreation offices, 1110 18th Avenue, and need to be turned in or mailed. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The cost is $27 for each player, which includes a T-shirt. The Junior Softball League is for girls who will be entering fifth through seventh grades in September of 2011. Junior League will play games on Tuesday nights, beginning on May 31. Practices will begin in May.
Games are played at Twining East, West Diamond and Wiota.
The Senior Softball League is for players who will be entering seventh through ninth grades in September of 2011. Senior League will play games on Monday nights, beginning on June 1.
Games are played at Twining Park, South Wayne, Wiota and Monticello.
The seventh graders have a choice to play in the Junior or Senior League, depending on their ability level. Practices start in early May.
Junior and Senior League players can also register for softball with the Cheesemakers. This will be on Thursday, March 31 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Twining Park. Everyone participating will receive a Campion Champions T-shirt in honor of the late Monsignor Campion. Bring your glove and join the high school softball players for a little softball fun. Cost is $6.00. Pre-registration is required.

Games are played at Northeast Park, Albany and South Wayne ball diamonds.
The National League is for players who will be entering sixth or seventh grade in September of 2011. The National League will play games on Monday nights beginning June 2. Practices will begin in May.
Games this year will be played at Northeast Park and South Wayne ball diamonds.
American and National League players can also register for Baseball with the Cheesemakers. This will be on Monday, March 28, from 1 to 3 p.m.,. at the Monroe High School baseball diamond. Everyone participating will receive a Campion Champion T-shirt in honor of the late Monsignor Campion. Bring your glove and join the high school baseball players for a little baseball fun. The cost is $6. Pre-registration is required.
