Redbirds take 3rd at PDC Relays

PRAIRIE DU CHIEN - Both the Darlington boys and girls track teams finished third place at the 58th annual Prairie du Chien Relays Monday.

La Crosse Central outdistanced Platteville 154-124 to win the boys team title. The Redbirds finished third (72). In the girls' meet, La Crosse Central took first outdistancing Platteville 124-95. The Redbirds finished right behind Platteville with 88 points.

Darlington freshman Tyson Miehe took first in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 9 minutes, 53.01 seconds. Darlington junior Levi Wedig finished third in the pole vault (10 feet, 6 inches).

The Redbirds' 800 relay team of Cody Erickson, Cedric Flesher, Storm Wiegel and Mitchell Langkamp took second with a time of 1:35.41, which was a little more than one second behind Dodgeville-Mineral Point. The Redbirds added third place finishes in the 400 relay (:46.82) and 1,600 relay (3:41), which was about one second away from second place Platteville.

Darlington senior McKenzie Pickett won the shot put (33-0 1/2) and freshman Carly Reilly finished first in the 100 (:13.57). Sophomore Cassidy Chambers took second in the high jump (4-10). The Redbirds' 3,200 relay team of Tatum Evenstad, Hannah Robiolio, Amy Jorgenson and Cheyenne Wolfe finished first with a time of 10:19.37.

Reilly and Hermanson teamed with Chambers and Hannah Huffman to take second in the 400 relay with a time of 54.12 seconds. Reilly, Huffman and Hermanson teamed with Kayla Lange to take second in the 800 relay (1:52.43). The Redbirds added a third place in the 1,600 relay with a time of 4:20.54.
