PeeWee A team scores shutout

MONROE - The Monroe Avalanche PeeWee A hockey team skated to a 10-0 win over the Dodgeville Ice Wolves on Sunday.

Back from an injury sustained early in the season, Alyssa Knauf scored a goal off a pass from Tessa Janecke about 1 minute into the game. Hayden Roth scored with 5 seconds left in the first period on an assist from Janecke.

The Avalanche continued to dominate, scoring three goals in the second period with goals by Knauf, Roth and Janecke. Earning assists were Janecke for a playmaker and Roman Bauer.

The Avalanche continued the streak into the third with five more goals. Scoring in the third were Rob Schroeder, and the conclusion of hat tricks each for Janecke and Roth.

The Avalanche outshot the Ice Wolves 43-9. Goaltender Jack Leverton earned his second shutout of the season.



Bantam A Shuts Out Dubuque

The Avalanche Bantam A team improved its season record to 11-6-0 after shutting out the Dubuque Jr. Saints Bantam team. Tessa Janecke scored the first two goals with assists by Hayden Roth and Payton Stauffacher on the second goal. Travis Edmunds lit the lamp in the second period and Roth earned a playmaker with another assist. Roth scored the last goal in the third on assists from Janecke and Broc Kuberski.

Goaltender Heath Bear recorded 23 saves.
