Pec-Argyle has two champs at Waunakee

WAUNAKEE — Pecatonica-Argyle had two champions at the 25-team Warrior Invite on Dec. 9.

Aidan Gruenenfelder (113 pounds) and Lukas Orloff (120) each won the title in their weight class. Gruenenfelder was unbeaten on the day, scoring a pin, two tech falls and a win by medical forfeit. 

Lukas Orloff was 4-1 overall, with all four wins via pin. His lone loss in the round-robin weight class was to Waunakee’s Mason Spear in a 3-0 decision. Spear loss two matches himself. Zander Kellogg was second in the class, losing the tiebreaker to Lukas Orloff head-to-head in the final round.

Jakob Orloff (132) took second, finishing 3-2 on the day in a traditional bracket division. Both losses came to Kewaskum’s Ethan Immell, who is 10-1 on the season. Lukas Rue (144) was third in his bracket. 

On the girls side of the tournament, Monroe’s Alexia Gallagher (107) was second, going 3-2 on the day. Both losses came to Richland Center’s Emma Hady via pin. Gallagher pinned two girls herself, and won a 7-2 decision.

Monroe’s Althea Eckdhal (126) finished ninth despite a 4-1 record on the day, which included three straight pins to close out her day.

Darlington-Black Hawk’s Ashlyn Eckerman (152) was 4-1 on the day, winning all four matches with first-period pins. Her lone loss in Round 4 was via pin late in the second period. In the third-place match, she pinned Sun Prairie’s Calli Stewart.

Warbird teammate Kaylee Russell (145) was sixth, going 3-2 on the day. Two of her wins were via pin.

Sugar River’s Adalyn Danz-Grass (145) was eighth, winning her first two matches by pinfall before being pinned in her final three matches — including to Russell in the consolation bracket.

Rosadella LaFrance (165) was 12th for Sugar River, losing all five of her matches.

Vikings 2nd at Holiduals

OAKFIELD — Parkview-Albany finished second to Princeton-Green Lake (PGL) at the five-team Oakfield Holiduals meet Dec. 9.

The Vikings went 3-1 in the duals, with the lone loss to PGL.
