JANESVILLE — The Fury trounced the Badger Lightning 7-0 Dec. 11 at Edwards Ice Arena.

Haley Knauf recorded a natural hat trick in the first period to set the pace for Rock County (4-3, 2-0 Badger)

Knauf scored the first goal of the game just 44 seconds after the first puck drop on a pass from Sara Nerad. Knauf then made it 2-0 just 2:33 in the game off assists from Presley Kovacevich and Cammi Ganshert. Less than two minutes later Knauf completed her hat trick, again off of assists from Kovacevich and Ganshert.

Just after the 10-minute mark in the first period, Anika Einbeck put the Fury up 4-0 off assists from Alyssa Knauf and Olivia Combs. Sarah Edler scored with just over two minutes left in the first to make it 5-0 Fury.

In the second period, Alyssa Knauf scored her second goal, this one of the shorthanded variety, just 52 seconds into play off of a pass from Sara Loerke. Edler scored her second goal later in the second with assists from Kylie Evans and Ella Silha.

Only two penalties were called in the game, both on the Fury in the second period. Olivia Cronin and Brooke Teubert split time in net for Rock County, with Cronin netting six saves in 25 minutes, 28 seconds of play and Teubert saving eight shots in the final 25:32.

Rock County outshot the Lightning 37-14.
