MONROE — The Cheesemakers came up one game short of the state tournament, but two of their key cogs received state-wide honors after the season.

Senior forward Cade Meyer and junior guard Carson Leuzinger were named to the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association Division 2 All-State teams.

Meyer, who stands at 6-8, was named first-team all-state. He averaged 20.1 points, 9.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game this season while helping Monroe to a 16-2 record. He will play at UW-Green Bay next season.

His single season free throw mark of 86.1% is fourth all-time in school history and he currently leads in career free throw percentage. He’s also third all-time in school history for total free throws made.

In Division 4, Darlington senior Carter Lancaster was a first-team all-state selection, and teammate Cayden Rankin was an honorable mention pick. Monticello senior Peter Gustafson earned first-team honors in Division 5 as well.
