FREEPORT — Monroe boys and girls won their respective divisions in the Freeport Invitational on Friday, April 12. The boys tallied 113 points, beating Freeport and Forreston. The girls scored 124 points, edging Freeport, Galena, Rochelle and Rockford.

The Cheesemakers won 18 of 38 events, including the boys 4x400 relay, boys 4x800 relay and girls 4x800 relay. Individually, Kaden Kuester won the 100-meter dash (11.75) and long jump (5.96m); Brody Cornfield the 200-meter dash (24.10); Padraic Houston the 1,600-meter run (5:10.56); Tre Dammen the 3,200-meter run (9:58.65); Taylor Herbst the shot put (12.36m); Peyton Herbst the discus (37.92m); CJ Schuh the pole vault (3.04m); Seth Schmidt the triple jump (12.45m); Aleigh Zettle the 400-meter dash (1:02.73); Nevaeh Huenfeld the 3,200-meter run (13:37.35); Ella Kranig the 100-meter hurdles (18.36); Aniyah Jackson-Bey the 300-meter hurdles (51.79); Miley Hanson the high jump (1.47m); and Sophie McGuire the pole vault (2.43m).
