Cleaver-Brooks sponsors fab lab at new MHS
Cleaver Brooks

MONROE — The School District of Monroe is proud to announce a significant sponsorship from Cleaver-Brooks, formerly known as Industrial Combustion, in support of the Fabrication Laboratory (Fab Lab) at the new Monroe High School. This $50,000 commitment, to be provided over a 10-year period, will play a critical role in advancing hands-on, career-connected learning opportunities for students.

In recognition of this generous investment, the facility will be named the Cleaver-Brooks Fab Lab.

Fab Labs are innovative learning environments equipped with advanced tools such as 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC machines, and design software. These spaces empower students to move from concept to creation — designing, prototyping, and manufacturing projects that integrate engineering, technology, and problem-solving. The Fab Lab at Monroe High School will support coursework in technical education, engineering, and design, while also encouraging creativity, collaboration, and entrepreneurial thinking.

This type of experiential learning is essential in preparing students for careers in advanced manufacturing, engineering, and skilled trades — fields that are vital to the region’s economic strength. Students gain not only technical competencies, but also durable skills such as critical thinking, adaptability, and innovation.

The partnership with Cleaver-Brooks reflects a strong alignment between the company’s longstanding reputation for engineering excellence and precision craftsmanship and the district’s commitment to preparing students for high-demand, high-skill careers. As a recognized leader in boiler room solutions and industrial systems, Cleaver-Brooks exemplifies the quality, innovation, and technical expertise that the Fab Lab experience is designed to cultivate in students.

“This sponsorship represents an extraordinary investment in the future of our students and our community,” said Joe Monroe, Superintendent of the School District of Monroe. “The Cleaver-Brooks name is synonymous with engineering excellence and quality workmanship. Their support of the Fab Lab will provide students with access to cutting-edge tools and experiences that will prepare them for success in today’s highly technical workforce.”

The School District of Monroe extends its sincere appreciation to Cleaver-Brooks for their partnership and vision in supporting the next generation of innovators, engineers, and skilled professionals.
