Monroe’s Koehn to play in Scottish invite
Brody Koehn

A recent Monroe High School graduate has traveled overseas to compete in a golf invitational in Scotland.

Brody Koehn, a 2026 MHS grad, joined 23 other golfers to compete in the Scotland Junior Golf Invitational now until July 2 at historic golf courses in Scotland.

Players with a five handicap or better were invited to participate in the tournament and the director of the tournament, Brian Volmer, contacted Monroe High School Athletic Director Eric Jubeck around the first of the year about Koehn becoming a part of the tour.

The Monroe Golf Club and golf professional Mike Muranyi helped finance the trip to Scotland.

Koehn sees this as a chance to be part of a golfing event with local, national, and international interest.

“It’s a great opportunity because I know there are college coaches and recruits there and it’s a chance to represent Monroe, the state of Wisconsin, and the U.S. for a once in a lifetime opportunity,” Koehn said.

The teams from Scotland and the U.S. will go head-to-head for six rounds of international competition, teeing up at some of the most historic courses in the world of golf. They will be playing at courses at North Berwick, Leven Links Golf Course, and St. Andrews in Scotland. Over the final three days of the tour, the U.S. team will compete against other high school-aged golfers from Scotland. The team event is structured and organized as an introduction to a collegiate team golf format.

Brody is the son of Aaron and Tara Koehn of Monroe and just finished his senior season playing for the Cheesemakers where he was a two-time second team all-conference player and two-time individual sectional qualifier. He will be attending UW-Whitewater this fall.
