PORTAGE — Monroe never trailed, picking up its first conference and third overall win, 37-26 over Portage on Monday, Feb. 13.
Seven of the 13 players that saw the floor scored, led by Taylor Jacobson with eight points, half of which came at the free-throw line. Abbey Matley trailed with seven points and five rebounds. All six of Allison Wunschel’s points came from beyond the arc. On the boards, Sophie Golembiewski and Sophia Douglas grabbed six rebounds each.
ALBANY 87, POTOSI-CASSVILLE 41
POTOSI — The Comets ended their regular season undefeated at 24-0 with a nonconference road win on Monday, Feb. 13.
Sophomore Abby Hollis had her best game from beyond the arc since Albany’s opening game against Benton. Hollis was 6-for-8 from 3-point range in her 22-point total.
Alana Durtschi also had a 20-plus point game, never erring from beyond the arc for five 3-pointers. She also led in rebounds (seven) and assists (eight).
Gracie Freitag and Avary Briggs were the other two Comets to score in double figures with 18 and 15 points, respectively.
BLACK HAWK 49, LANCASTER 39
SOUTH WAYNE — With a 20-point game from senior Raylin Peterson, the Lady Warriors snapped a four-game losing streak on Monday, Feb. 13.
Peterson shot 6-for-11 from the field, including a pair of threes. Jaliyah Collins also scored in double figures with 11 points, going 3-for-3 from the charity stripe. On the boards, Hailey Wellnitz grabbed a team-best 11 rebounds, while Kendra Haldiman chipped in eight.
NEW GLARUS 72, OREGON 65
OREGON — The 23-0 Knights proved why they are the No. 1 seed in Section 3 of the Division 4 playoff bracket with a nonconference road win over the Division 1 Panthers.
Lindsey Schadewalt paced New Glarus with 26 points, getting to the line 11 times and capitalizing on 10 of those opportunities. She also sank a pair of threes. Alex Atwell trailed with 20 points, going 4-for-4 from the charity stripe. Grace Nommensen was the third Knight in double figures with five free throws.
MONTICELLO 68, ALSA 63
MADISON — Dalana Trumpy went off for 29 points to lead the Ponies to a nonconference victory on Tuesday, Feb. 14.
In addition to her 29 points, Trumpy grabbed nine rebounds. With 15 rebounds and 18 points, Ellie Gustafson recorded a double-double. Jaden Zuber was the third Pony in double figures with 13 points.
DARLINGTON 47, BOSCOBEL 41
DARLINGTON — The Redbirds overcame a 10-point deficit in the first half, finally grabbing the lead halfway through the second half en route to a SWAL Conference win on Tuesday, Feb. 14.
Kylie Butler paced Darlington with 15 points with five free throws. She and Cayla Golackson grabbed seven rebounds, but Jaylyn Schwartz snagged eight to lead the team. The rebounds made a difference, as the Redbirds scored 13 second-chance points.
RIVER VALLEY 73, PECATONICA 61
BLANCHARDVILLE — Charlotte Ferstl was a thorn in the Vikings’ side, as the UW-Superior commit scored 27 points in the Blackhawks’ victory.
“Ferstl is a good player,” Pecatonica head coach Linda Hendrickson said. “You can see why they run their offense through her. We just didn’t have anybody that could handle her size. They tried. I will give our girls that.”
Chloe Schraepfer attempted to go toe-to-toe with Ferstl, scoring 21 points with 10 free throws. Anna Tisch was the other scorer in double figures with 15 points, draining three 3-pointers. Bri Peterson also knocked down a pair of threes in her eight-point total.

ARGYLE — Despite three-times the offensive output in the second half, the Orioles fell short against the Flying Arrows on Tuesday, Feb. 14. Jaylin Hartwig paced Argyle with nine points, including a pair of threes, while Mya McNett scored four of her eight points at the free-throw line.
