Buschor drops career-high 20 points
Redbirds jump four spots in D4 rankings

DARLINGTON — With a 20-point performance from freshman Broker Buschor, the Darlington Redbirds defeated Southwestern 60-41 on Tuesday, Jan. 3.

At halftime, Darlington led 34-15. The 19-point lead proved to be the difference maker, as the two teams scored 26 points each in the second half.

Buschor led the Redbirds with 20 points, going 6-for-8 from beyond the arc.  Teammates Carver Fitzsimons and Brady Long also finished in double figures with 13 and 11 points, respectively. Long sank two threes, while Fitzsimons had one. The remaining 3-pointer for Darlington came from Levi Carter. Three different players led the team with seven rebounds: Fitzsimons, Buschor and Carter Murray.

With an 8-1 mark as of Week 6 in the Wissports.net polls, Darlington is ranked No. 6 in Division 4. In the previous poll, the Redbirds were ranked 10, a jump of four spots. As a team, they are averaging 65.7 points, led by Will Murray (18.2 ppg) and Fitzsimons (12.1 ppg).
