BRODHEAD — After losing 3-2 on a walk-off to Evansville on Friday, April 14, Brodhead-Juda sought revenge against the Blue Devils and earned a 12-2 win on Friday, April 21.
Evansville tied the game at two with an RBI double from Max Kurth in the top of the third. Brodhead-Juda responded immediately, plating four runs in the bottom half of the frame.
Aidyn Vondra led off with a triple to center, and Gabe Bockhop drove him in with an RBI single. Ryan Searls kept the offense rolling with a single, followed by a three-run home run by David Masloske to give the Cardinals a 6-2 lead.
After a scoreless fourth inning by both teams, Brodhead-Juda put up six runs in the bottom of the fifth to enforce the mercy rule.
Evansville pitcher Brad Bartz walked three consecutive batters then hit the next two to bring in two runs. Another bases-loaded walk gave the Cardinals a 9-2 lead. Bartz recorded a strikeout to get some relief, but Senobe made sure it was short-lived. He hit a sacrifice fly to center, scoring Masloske.
Kohen Sawle used his speed to score on a passed ball and Vondra reached on an error to end the game.
Bockhop led the offense, going 2-for-2 with a home run and two RBIs. On the bump, Senobe picked up the win, giving up two earned runs on four hits.
