BHW Seffrood, PA Waage semi-finalists for WisSports.net Senior Awards

MONROE — WisSports.net recently announced semi-finalists for its Senior Football Awards, and local players Owen Seffrood (Black Hawk-Warren) and Ike Waage (Pecatonica-Argyle) made their respective positions’ list.

The preseason list was announced in late August and has been trimmed down to 30 semi-finalists. Finalists will be chosen at the start of playoffs with winners announced the week of state finals.

Seffrood is a semi-finalist for the Elroy “Crazylegs” Hirsch Award, which is given to the state’s top senior running back. At the time the semi-finalists were announced on Oct. 2, Seffrood compiled 1,066 rushing yards on 120 attempts for 8.8 ypg. He scored 20 touchdowns and 11, 2-point conversions. Seffrood is ranked top 10 in the state for rushing yards and rushing touchdowns.

Waage is a semi-finalist for the Al Toon Award, which is given to the state’s top senior wide receiver or tight end. At the time the semi-finalists were announced on Oct. 2, Waage had 30 receptions for 740 yards for 24.67 ypr. He scored five touchdowns and two, 2-point conversions. He is top 25 in the state in receptions, top 5 in receiving yards and top 5 in receiving yards per game.
