WHITEWATER - The Monroe girls track team had two top seven finishes at the Wisconsin Track and Field Association's State Indoor Championships Saturday at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

Monroe sophomore Jordan Hirsbrunner finished tied for third place in the high jump after clearing 5 feet, 2 inches. Monroe junior Abby Oudinot took seventh-place in the triple jump (34-0 1/2).

The TFA meet includes track teams from various Division 1,2, and 3 schools that met qualification standards. The Cheesemakers had six girls compete at the meet and they finished 28th place out of 39 teams.

"I'm very happy with how those young ladies competed," Monroe girls track coach Matt Davis said of Hirsbrunner and Oudinot. "Jumping that well can be difficult in such a large meet where the time between jumps is much greater than it normally is. This will really help their confidence levels for the remainder of the season."

Sun Prairie senior Tierney Lindner won the high jump (5-7), 1 inch shy of the meet record. Madison Edgewood senior Amy Davis, a University of Wisconsin recruit, took second in the 1,600.

The Cheesemakers' 800 relay team of Isabel Bazley, Hirsbrunner, Oudinot and Josie Eberle took 15th place out of 39 teams with a time of 1 minute, 53.34 seconds.

"Many of the teams of them were Division 1 schools," Davis said. "I can only see them getting faster in the outdoor season and going for the postseason. The whole team had a great meet."

Monroe sophomore Ciara Kaderly competed in the 1,600 run and Casey Rielly competed in the 55 hurdles. Oudinot and Eberle also ran the 55 dash.
