Barrett, Tordoff close out careers

MADISON - Monroe graduates Michael Barrett and Bryan Tordoff played their last game together at the WBCA All-Star game Saturday and both were held scoreless.

Barrett and Tordoff as members of the South team beat the North 77-72 at the UW Field House. Barrett was 0-for-4 shooting and grabbed four rebounds. Tordoff was 0-for-1 and had two rebounds.

The South team put the game away by outscoring the North 22-12 in the fourth quarter. Reedsburg's Chad Mazur scored 19 points to help rally the South.

Every year the WBCA runs the all-star games to raise money for the MACC Fund to help in the fight against childhood cancer.

Brodhead's J.J. Panoske closed out a standout career in leading the Division 3 South All-Stars to an 85-80 win over the North.

Panoske, a University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee recruit, scored eight points, grabbed six rebounds and blocked seven shots.

The South team jumped out to a 29-23 lead, but the North came back and tied the game at 42 at halftime. The decisive run for the South came in the third quarter where they outscored the North 22-11.

Monticello graduate Tyler Ritschard closed out his basketball career as a member of the Division 5 South All-Stars which lost to the North 88-80.

Ritschard scored eight points and had two rebounds. The South team jumped out to a 26-20 lead and led by three points at halftime. The North outscored the South 27-18 in the third quarter to seal the victory.
