Stanley G. Sisson, age 90 of Monticello, WI passed away on Friday, February 7, 2025 at the New Glarus Home. He was born on March 7, 1934 in Janesville, WI the son of Louis and Ethel (Davis) Sisson. Stan graduated from Albany High School in 1952 and continued his education at Milton College on a baseball scholarship and graduated from there in 1957. He had been scouted by the major league, and one of the highlights of his baseball career was being picked up by a Kenosha team and playing at County Stadim. Stan taught History, Economics, and American Political Behavior in Monticello for 35 years retiring in 1995, in addition he worked many weekends at the Casino Supper Club in Monticello for 25 years. Stan fondly remembers traveling to visit his brother Wes in Germany and brother Don in Texas along with trips to Graceland following Elvis with Leona. He always enjoyed Thursday morning breakfasts with his friends at the Chalet Landhaus.
Stan is survived by an extra special friend Leona Arn, daughters Mareen (Dan) Reeson and Mari Brusveen, Diane Sisson, and Linda (Clayton) Willi, grandchildren Ashley (Dennis) Rufener, Edward Stampfli Jr., and Mike (Ellen) Stampfli, and great-grandchildren Ella, Bryce, Tatem, Tierany, Sawyer, and Ellie. He is further survived by his brothers Virgil (Jane) Sisson and Wes (Jan) Sisson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Debi Sisson, brothers Don, Ben, Ken, and Harley, and sister June.
A gathering will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Friday, February 14, 2025 at the Zentner-Beal Funeral Home, 29 Sixth Ave., New Glarus, WI. Inurnment will be at a later date at the Jug Prairie Cemetery, rural Brooklyn, WI.
The Zentner-Beal Funeral Home of New Glarus is assisting the family.
