On September 20:
● At 9:58 p.m., officers were called to a two-vehicle accident with no reported injuries at the intersection of 8th Avenue and 6th Street. The investigation indicated that a vehicle operated by Hunter R. Reynolds,18, of Winslow, IL, was traveling south on 8th Avenue, stopped at the stop sign for 6th Street, proceeded into the intersection and collided with an eastbound vehicle operated by a Brodhead man. Both vehicles sustained disabling damages and were towed. Reynolds was cited for failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign and released pending a court appearance.
On September 24:
● At 8:12 a.m., officers arrested Barry L. Polifka, 51, of Monroe, in the 400 block of 4th Avenue after receiving information that Polifka was violating his bond conditions. Polifka was charged with Felony Bail Jumping, Resisting Arrest, and Battery to a Law Enforcement Officer. Polifka was confined in the Green County Jail pending a court appearance.
● At 11:35 a.m., officers arrested Samantha R.M. Estep, 39, of Monroe, in the 400 block of 4th Avenue for a Probation and Parole Violation. Estep was confined in the Green County Jail.
On September 26:
● At 1:34 p.m., officers arrested Silvia Zopiyactle Xalamihja, 44, of Monroe, in the 700 block of 12th Avenue for Disorderly Conduct under Wisconsin’s Domestic Abuse Laws. Zopiyactle Xalamihja was released after required bond was posted with a court date.
On September 29:
● At 7:53 p.m., officers arrested Jamie L. Rowe, 40, of Monroe, after officers were called to the 2200 block of 11th Street for a report of a person violating their conditions of bail prohibiting alcohol consumption. Rowe was charged with two, (2), counts of felony bail jumping due to a violation of bail conditions from a prior case. Rowe was confined in the Green County Jail pending a court appearance.
On October 1:
● At 11:40 a.m., Officers responded to the intersection of 14th Ave and 9th St. for a two-vehicle accident. Investigation indicated a vehicle operated by a Monroe woman was stopped in traffic on 9th Street, heading westbound when she was struck from behind by another vehicle, operated by Brendan M. Jamison, 31, of Orangeville, IL. Injuries were reported; however, Emergency Medical Services were declined. Both vehicles sustained functional damage and were later removed. Jamison was cited for operating w/o a valid license, operating a motor vehicle w/o insurance, non-registration of auto and following too closely. Jamison was released pending a court appearance.
● At 6:18 p.m., Officers responded to the 1000 block of 16th Avenue for a two-vehicle accident. Investigation indicated a vehicle operated by Robert L.A. Parr Jr., 29, of Monroe, WI, was performing a backing maneuver and collided with another vehicle, operated by a Monroe man. Both vehicles sustained functional damage and were later removed. No citations were issued and no injuries were reported.
On October 3:
● At approximately 3:22 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the W5100 block of State Highway 11. Investigation resulted in Jordan R. Betts, 27, of Beloit, WI, being placed under arrest for Bail Jumping, (Felony), and Possession of THC. Betts was additionally cited for Operating a Motor Vehicle W/O Insurance, Speeding, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Betts was confined in the Green County Jail pending a court appearance.
● At approximately 1:14 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of 8th Street and State Highway 69 for a two-vehicle accident. Investigation revealed a vehicle operated by Teodoro Abelino Velasco, 26, of Belmont, WI, failed to yield right of way while making a left turn and collided with a northbound vehicle, operated by a Rockford, IL man. Both vehicles sustained functional and/or disabling damages and were towed from the scene. Abelino Velasco was cited for Operating W/O a Valid License, Operating a Motor Vehicle W/O Insurance, and Failure to Yield Right of Way. Abelino Velasco was the released, pending a court appearance.
