Jeffery Scott Dampier died unexpectedly at his home on April 2, 2020. Jeff was born in Janesville, WI on Nov. 15, 1961 to George and Joan Dampier. He attended Parker High School in Janesville and later went on to pursue his passion for automobiles. He worked for Alphorn Ford in Monroe for many years where he worked on cars, cared for customers and built many friendships that he carried with him throughout his lifetime. Jeff's entire career was centered around vehicles. Jeff also worked at Monroe Auto Sales in Monroe and MarkIV in Freeport.
Jeff loved anything to do with NASCAR and was an avid collector of Mark Martin and Dick Trickle memorabilia. When he was not working on cars, he loved to hunt, fish, or ride his four-wheeler. Anything he could do outdoors brought him much happiness. Jeff loved animals and left behind his Doberman dog Cali. Cali had a very special place in Jeff’s heart.
Jeff will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Nicoal (Jared) Steinmann and two grandchildren Blake and Paige Steinmann Monroe, mother Joan Dampier of Janesville, brother Alan Dampier of Alabama, sister Sharon (Jeff) Backenger of Beloit, brother David Dampier of Florida, very good friend Dave Geiger of Monroe many nieces and nephews and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father George Dampier and brother Gary Dampier.
Private arrangements for the family are being made with Whitcomb-Lynch Funeral Home in Janesville WI.
