Jean Schiller, age 87, passed away peacefully with her partner by her side on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at New Glarus Home. She was born December 2, 1932, to Victor and Dorothy (Hall) Stauffacher in Monroe, Wisconsin. Jean was a 1951 graduate of Monroe High School. After high school, she worked at the United Telephone Company. She later worked at Cuna Credit Union, and Ganshert & Brockley Dental Clinic. Jean then went on to work at Frito Lay, where she retired after a successful 25-year career.

She enjoyed reading, playing cards, playing the piano, cooking/baking, golfing, going on trial rides, and going to quarter horse races. Active in her community, Jean was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, where she was part of the Ladies Aid, Ladies Circle, and taught Sunday School for several years. She was also a member of the Monroe Women’s Club, Yellowstone Golf League, and a card club.

Jean devoted her life and heart to Earl Jacobson, her loving partner of 49 years. They enjoyed horseback riding, traveling and tending to their farm together. Jean was known for her compassion and caring to others especially the elderly, finding the perfect greeting card for someone, and baking a treasured family recipe. Jean and Earl knew how to make every holiday family gathering special. Jean’s kind, gentle spirit will truly be missed by all her knew her.

Jean is survived by her twin sister, Janet Hartwig; partner, Earl Jacobson; her daughters, Linda (Tom) Flynn of Carbondale, CO and Nancy Presti of Janesville, WI; Earl’s children, David (Lea) Jacobson and Sharon (Tom) Eisch; grandchildren, Meredith (Alan) Homan, Gina (Josh) Franklin, Amy (Kevin) McAbee, Angelea

Presti (Timothy Yoder), Katelyn Presti, Hilary (Justin) Leick, Jonathan Presti, Stephen Presti, Robert Jacobson, Jesse Jacobson, Katie (Jordan) Hippenbecker, Todd Eisch, Joey Eisch; and many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Dorothy Stauffacher, brother

Robert Stauffacher, and son-in-law, Joseph Presti.

Private memorial services will be held Thursday, September 10, 2020 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home in Monroe.
