Gerald “Jerry” Wahler of Brodhead, WI, age 75, passed away unexpectedly on October 28, 2019. He was born on June 28, 1944 in Gratiot, WI to Lewis and Velma (Prine) Wahler. Jerry graduated in 1962 from Gratiot High School. He then married the love of his life, Beverly (Temperly) Wahler in August 13, 1966 at the West Wiota Church. They were married 44 years preceding him in death on February 6, 2011.
He worked as an auto mechanic at the Chevy garage in Monroe, until he moved to Janesville. Then he opened his own business until 1979. After that he was hired at Beloit Corp for many years and then retired to enjoy life. Due to his work ethic, he decided to work a few more years at Stoughton Trailers as a forklift operator. Jerry enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, camping, fishing, mowing yards, and weed eating. Jerry had his daily routine to go enjoy his retirement fun with family and friends and see his Special Caretakers at Deb’s Bar.
Gerald is survived by 2 sons, Shawn (Becky Lenz) Wahler, Monroe and Scott (Teresa) Wahler, Brodhead; five grandchildren, Jared, Glayden, Emily, Trevor and Kylee; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Gordon Wahler, Monroe; many in-laws, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly and his parents.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home in Monroe from 11am -1pm. Following the visitation there will be a Celebration of Life at Deb’s Bar, Brodhead from 2pm -5pm. Condolences may be sent to the family at: shriner111.com.
