Carolyn Rae Schafer, age 75, of Monroe, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2026, after a long illness. Carolyn was born Carolyn Rae Munz on October 10, 1950, to Bernard and Arlene (McGuire) Munz in Monroe, Wisconsin. A lifelong resident of Monroe, she built a life centered on family and faith.

On March 23, 1974, Carolyn married the love of her life, Larry Schafer, at St. John's United Church of Christ in Monroe. Together they shared 52 years of marriage, creating a lifetime of memories and unwavering devotion to one another.

Carolyn was a loving mother to her two children, Tiffany Schafer (Chad Fickett) and Toby Schafer. She especially cherished her role as grandmother and adored her twin grandchildren, Ava and Beau, who brought tremendous joy to her life. Along with her husband, children, and grandchildren she is also survived by many cousins that she considered the siblings she never had.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Arlene Munz. She found comfort in her faith and is now reunited with them in heaven.

Carolyn dedicated 33 years of service to Advance Transformer, retiring in 2002. It was here where she formed many lasting friendships. She was a longtime member of the Moose Lodge #754 Women's Chapter #599 and St. John's United Church of Christ.

In her free time, Carolyn enjoyed crocheting. She also never missed an opportunity to watch her favorite game show, The Price Is Right. She cherished her cousins and always looked forward to spending time with them, sharing stories, laughter, and meaningful conversations. Carolyn was also a lifelong dog lover.

Her memory will be cherished always by those whose lives she touched.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the staff of SSM Health for their compassionate care, kindness, and support, which helped Carolyn leave this world peacefully and comfortably.

A Private Family Graveside Service will be held. A public Celebration of Carolyn’s Life will be held at a later date.
