MONROE — The Green County Cheese Days Committee held its biannual Prince and Princess contest on Saturday, June 6 at the Historic Green County Courthouse. Children pranced the square and the courthouse dressed in dirndls, lederhosen and other authentic Alpen garb.

Nearly 50 children ages 6-12 participated — about 3/4 girls. Each competitor received a Cheese Days backpack, a special title award, and a golden ticket for cheese curds at the festival.
