Darlyne Wilma Segner age 97, was reunited with her true love, Elton, on Valentine’s Day 2024. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, and will be deeply missed by everyone who loved her.
Darlyne was born on Nov. 8th, 1926, to Emma and Herman Ritschard near Monticello, WI. She was the 2nd oldest in a family of 8.
Throughout her life, she was known for her strong work ethic, quiet but mighty personality, passion for helping others, quick wit and competitive spirit.
But more than anything, Darlyne was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, playing games, making the perfect snack and attending all the school events and sports she could. She was always there to offer help, love, support and a sweet treat or two.
Darlyne was married to the love of her life, Elton, for over 73 years. They danced through life’s ups and downs together, always in perfect step. They farmed all their life in the Winslow, IL, Monticello, and Juda areas and raised their 5 children with the same strength and love they had for each other. Always together, her and Elton enjoyed playing cards, volunteering, going for walks, and being the first to offer help to anyone in need. She also had the most beautiful flowers every summer and took great pride in them.
Darlyne is survived by her children Wayne (Laurie) Segner, Lori (Dan) Klemm, Heidi (Rob) Treuthardt, sons-in-law, Dick Gruenewald and Wes Winters, 10 grandchildren, 12 greatgrandchildren, sister Marlys Hegge, brothers Raland Ritschard and Mike (Sandy) Ritschard.
She was predeceased by her husband Elton, daughters Cathy Winters and Nancy Gruenewald, brothers Donald, Delbert, Hank, and Bobby Ritschard and special brother-in-law Wayne Segner.
