MONROE — Browntown Fire crews were called to a structure fire just before 11 a.m. Tuesday on Ullom Road, in a trailer park off Wis. 11.
According to reports, no one was injured in the blaze but a family was left temporarily homeless and were assisted by the Red Cross.
There is no information on the extent of the damage, or on a cause of the fire.
According to a social media post, the occupants were away on vacation when the fire broke out and returned home in time to see the damage. Monroe Rural Fire and South Wayne Fire were both paged to assist on the call.
Two days later, one person was displaced in Brooklyn in a camper fire.
According to the Dane County Sheriff’s Office, a fire destroyed a camper on Railroad Street in the Village of Brooklyn Feb. 6. Authorities are still investigating, but said the blaze was potentially started by a portable heater. There was approximately $10,000 in damages, the sheriff’s office reported.
