MONROE - Police are seeking leads in a theft Sunday night of $65,000 worth of vehicles from a Monroe dealership.

Three people, believed to be male, forced entry at about 11 p.m. Sunday into a fenced area at Monroe Powersports, 2820 County DR, according to Monroe Chief of Police Fred Kelley.

"We believe they were masked," he said.

The burglars then stole and drove away in two snowmobiles, later recovered nearby, before coming back to the business, stealing a $17,000 24-foot Triton-brand enclosed trailer and pushing three vehicles from the outdoor lot inside the trailer.

The three stolen vehicles include two Polaris RZR off-road UTVs, one valued at $19,000, the other at $26,000, and a $3,000 ATV.

The burglars made their getaway westbound on County DR, hauling the trailer with a dark-colored pickup truck.

"We believe it to be a Ford quad cab," Kelley said. "We think that it has custom wheels."

Kelley is asking anyone with information on the burglary to call the Monroe Police Department at 329-2400 or by calling in an anonymous tip to Green County Crimestoppers at 800-I-C-CRIME (800-422-7463), by texting "GREENTIP" plus a message to 274637 or submitting the tip online at greencountycrimestoppers.com.
