Green Co. deputy hurt in accident

TOWN OF WASHINGTON - A Green County Sheriff's Deputy was injured Sunday in a traffic collision at the intersection of County C and County N, Town of Washington.

Deputy Aaron L. King, 30, Monroe, was injured after Evan J. Siegenthaler, 16, Monticello, struck King's squad car at 9:45 p.m. at the intersection after failing to yield the right of way.

King was transported to a local hospital for his injuries and was released shortly thereafter. Sheriff's assistant Pamela Young said King was in "fine" condition on Monday.

Siegenthaler was uninjured. Both vehicles were severely damaged and were towed from the scene.

The crash is currently under investigation by the Monticello Police Department. No citations have been issued.
