MONROE - Steve Cretney joined Colony Brands Inc. as a new vice president and chief information officer on Jan. 21.
Cretney will oversee all departments in the SC Data Center, a Colony Brands affiliate. The Data Center includes all information technology departments such as Open Systems and Technical Services, as well as the SC Contact Centers in Monroe and Dickeyville; Clinton, Iowa; and Hannibal, Mo.
Cretney has more than 25 years of information technology experience, most recently as CIO and vice president at Lands' End in Dodgeville. He also served as president of Total Administrative Service Corp., an employee benefits administration firm in Madison.
Cretney has a bachelor of science degree in computer science and statistics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is active with the UW master of business administration program and serves on the board of advisors for the Erdman Center for Operations and Technology Management. He is also a co-chair for the Wisconsin Technology Network Fusion conference and a co-chair for the UW E-business Consortium.
Cretney and his wife, Karin, live in Mount Horeb and have two sons - one in high school and one enrolling in medical school.
