ilroad tracks near Juda will shut down County S from Monday until Friday, Green County Highway Commissioner Chris Narveson announced, with County OK as the designated detour.
In his announcement Wednesday, Narveson specified that the tracks will be replaced at the crossing along the highway. County S should be reopened early Friday.
Narveson also specified that chip sealing of highways will begin Monday. The work will take an estimated six weeks and is set to begin in Brooklyn on Elmer Road and Benson Road. He added that signs indicating chip sealing is soon to take place will be installed along the roads roughly 2 to 5 days before work begins.
Municipalities which will be affected, in the order of planned work, include Belleville, Monticello, Mt. Pleasant, Albany, Decatur, Brodhead, Spring Grove, Jefferson, Sylvester, Clarno, Cadiz, Monroe, Jordan, Adams, York, Blanchard and New Glarus. Highways will include County M, MM, NN, P, EE, X, F, C, D, and X.
Wisconsin 69 will also be sealed in the final weeks of scheduled work, from the city limits of Monroe to the state line, including turn lanes along the highway.
