STEPHENSON CO — The Stephenson County Sheriff’s Office issued the following citations during the recent Thanksgiving enforcement detail.

● There was one arrest for suspended/revoked license

● There were six speeding citations

● There was one citation for an occupant restraint violation

● There were two citations for Scott’s Law violations

● There was one arrest for illegal possession of cannabis in vehicle

Law enforcement agencies throughout Illinois participated in this effort to save lives by getting impaired drivers off the roads and more people buckled up. The enforcement campaign took place from Nov. 19 to Nov. 29.

Extra emphasis was placed on enforcement during late-night hours, when statistics show the most unbuckled and impaired driving fatalities occur.
