Rosella K. Briggs, age 82 of Albany, Wisconsin, died Thursday, May 13, 2010 at the Monroe Clinic Hospital with her 3 sons by her side. Rosella was born April 20, 1928 in rural Albany, the daughter of John and Elsie (Legler) Zurfluh and graduated from Albany High School in 1945.

Rosella and Charles R. Briggs were married April 25, 1946 at Zwingli United Church of Christ in Monticello and they farmed in Mt. Pleasant Township. Rosella also worked at Advance Transformer in Monroe and worked at the Albany School cafeteria. She was a member of Zwingli United Church of Christ in Monticello and McDermott Steindorf American Legion Post #144 Auxiliary in Albany. Rosella enjoyed playing cards, gardening, traveling, collecting salt and pepper shakers and beanie babies, going out to eat, and spending time with her family.

Surviving are her sons, Fay (Elisabeth) Briggs of Albany, Ronald (Donna) Briggs of Monroe, and Gene (Gail) Briggs of Albany; sister, Lillian (Fred) Beer of Monroe; grandchildren, Tony, Julie, Brad, Danny, Alissa, Michelle, and Jim; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson. She is predeceased by her parents; husband; brothers, Fred, Louie, John, Willis, and Robert Zurfluh; and sisters, Lena Spring and Clara Robinson.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 17, 2010 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home in Monroe with Rev. Lawrence Balleine officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Albany.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

A memorial fund is being established in Rosella's memory.
