Monroe Police

MONROE - Police were called to a dispute between roommates at 11:42 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11, in the 900 block of 10th Street. One tenant wanted a roommate removed. Police referred him to his landlord since the case is civil, not criminal.

On Tuesday, Nov. 12:

• A 911 misdial was received at 2:54 a.m. from a business in the 800 block of West 17th Street.

• A 911 hangup at 8:42 a.m. was traced to a home in the 1300 block of 15th Street. No one was home when police arrived. Police left a message for the caller, but no one called back.

• An injured chicken running loose in the city was reported at 11:57 a.m. in the 900 block of 11th Street. Police euthanized the bird.

• A 10-year-old girl reported at 4:39 p.m., via her parents who called police, that she was being bullied by a 10-year-old boy at Abraham Lincoln Accelerated Learning Academy. Police talked with the boy about his behavior.

• Francis H. Lancaster, 77, South Wayne, was cited for driving without proof of vehicle insurance after police responded to a two-vehicle accident without injuries at 5:12 p.m. at 13th Avenue and 12th Street. Lancaster collided with a vehicle driven by a 37-year-old Monroe man, causing both vehicles moderate to severe damage.

• A 13-year-old boy called 911 at 6:59 p.m. from the YMCA, 1307 2nd St., because he didn't want his tutor/assistant to take him home. Police warned him about 911 abuse.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Tuesday, Nov. 12:

• Vandalism was reported at 5:18 p.m. on South Broad Street in Argyle. A window was broken out on a home. The incident was forwarded to Argyle police for follow-up.

• Smoke coming from a manhole was reported at 6:09 p.m. on Wis. 11 in Shullsburg. Prior to the deputy's arrival, the Shullsburg Public Works Department arrived to fix the problem.
