Monroe Police

MONROE - On Wednesday, Oct. 30:

• Cody L. Stafford, 20, Monroe, was cited for inattentive driving after officers responded at 4:55 a.m. to a 911 call reporting a two-vehicle accident in the intersection of Wis. 69 and 8th Street. No injuries were reported. Stafford's vehicle was severely damaged and towed.

• Derrick A. Smith, 45, Monroe, was arrested on charges of battery and disorderly conduct and placed on a probation hold after officers responded at 4:58 a.m. to a report of domestic abuse in the 1500 block of 15th Avenue. Smith was jailed.

• Alexis M. Pieper, 23, Monroe, was cited for hit-and-run and driving without vehicle insurance after officers responded at 5:12 p.m. to a two-vehicle crash in the intersection of 10th Avenue and 23rd Street.

• David L. Webb, 21, Monroe, was arrested at about 10:30 p.m. during a traffic stop in the 300 block of 8th Street on a warrant issued by the Green County Sheriff's Department for obstructing an officer. He was unable to post cash bond and was jailed.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Tuesday, Oct. 29:

• Disorderly conduct was reported at 2:53 p.m. on 1st Avenue in Benton.

• A theft from a business on West Moundview Avenue in Belmont was reported at 5:44 p.m.

On Wednesday, Oct. 30:

• Both drivers were cited and one injured in a two-vehicle accident reported at 5:06 a.m. on Wis. 126 in Elk Grove Township. Hector V. Velasquez-Sinay, 24, Darlington, was southbound when he could not avoid hitting another southbound vehicle driven by Margaret R. Nickelotti, 19, Genoa, as she pulled to the shoulder and then attempted to make a U-turn in front of him. She was taken by Belmont EMS to Southwest Healthcare in Platteville for treatment of her injuries. Velasquez-Sinay and his passenger Elizaldo Consuegra Fonesca, 31, Darlington, reported no injuries. Both vehicles were moderately damaged and towed. Velasquez-Sinay was arrested on charges of driving without a license or vehicle insurance and later released after posting bond. Nickelotti was cited for failure to yield right-of-way.

• A northbound vehicle traveling in the southbound lanes on U.S. 151 was reported at 11:30 a.m. Belmont police and a deputy attempted to locate the vehicle but did not.

• A deputy and a K-9 team assisted Blanchardville police at the scene of a mock traffic accident in Blanchardville at 1:34 p.m.

• Suspicious activity was reported at 4:30 p.m. at the Benton Schools. An outside door in the building had been tampered with.

• Eric C. Gebhart, 34, Monroe, was cited for speeding at 7:07 p.m. on Wis. 11 in Wayne Township.
