Monroe Police

MONROE - Richard A. Smiley, 53, Monroe, was arrested for a restraining order violation at 5:57 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, in the 2600 block of 8th Street. He posted the required bond and was released pending court.

On Tuesday, Aug. 13:

- Child abuse was reported at 11:08 a.m. in the 1400 block of 17th Street. The case remains under investigation.

- A caller at 6:38 p.m. reported seeing a suspicious female trying to open the doors on a truck parked behind Stop-N-Go in the 800 block of 16th Avenue. Police found that the 47-year-old woman was incapacitated by alcohol and took her into protective custody. She was taken first to the Monroe Clinic ER for an examination and medical clearance, then turned over to a responsible adult.

- Three bicycles were reported stolen at 11:54 p.m. from a residence in the 1200 block of 12th Street.

Green County Sheriff

MONROE - On Wednesday, Aug. 14:

- Richard D. Hauser, 32, Brodhead, was arrested in the N3100 block of Wisconsin 81 in Monroe Township at 11:41 a.m. on warrants issued by the Brodhead Police Department. He was taken to the jail and later released after posting bond.

- Trevor J. Thuli, 20, Darlington, was cited for driving with a suspended license (third offense) and for inattentive driving after deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash at 4:43 p.m. on Wis. 11 at Smock Valley Road in Monroe Township. Thuli was westbound when he failed to see another westbound vehicle, driven by Shawn S. Danzinger, 25, Monroe, stopped and signaling to turn left. Thuli hit Danzinger's vehicle, causing it moderate rear-end damage. Neither or Thuli or Danzinger reported injuries. Thuli's vehicle sustained moderate front-end and complete driver's side damage. It was later removed from the scene.

Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Wednesday, Aug. 14:

- Kandi K. Willis, 42, Shullsburg, was arrested at 12:45 p.m. on Catherine Street in Darlington on a warrant issued by the Department of Corrections probation and parole office. She was jailed.

- Erica R. Williams, 34, Lena, was cited for speeding at 9:42 a.m. on County KK in Gratiot Township.

- A deputy responded to Temple Avenue in Benton at 7:11 p.m. to keep the peace during a civil dispute.
