DARLINGTON - Naomi M. Glendenning, age 94 of Darlington, WI, passed away Monday, August 16, 2010, at Lafayette Manor in Darlington. She was born January 21, 1916 in Darlington Township in Lafayette County, the daughter of William and Clarinda (Taylor) Bennett. Naomi graduated from Darlington High School in 1933. She was united in marriage to Homer J. Glendenning on November 2, 1935 in Thompson, IL. Naomi lived in Darlington most of her life where she co-owned and operated Glendenning Redi-Mix in Darlington with her husband until retiring.

Naomi is survived by three children: Gerald (Kathy) Glendenning of Richmond, CA, Lawrence (Carol) Glendenning of Darlington, and Mary Kay Malone of McFarland, WI; nine grandchildren: Michael Glendenning, Steven (Jenny) Glendenning, Craig (Mercedes) Glendenning, Pamela (David) Hinderman, Kevin (Peggy) Glendenning, Greg (Brenda) Glendenning, Scott (Tara) Glendenning, Noelle (Robin) Powers, and Andrew (Karen) Malone; 16 great-grandchildren; and one step-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband: Homer on November 24, 1993.

Naomi was a very active member of Darlington United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women. She was a past Sunday school teacher. Naomi was also active in the S.U.N. program in Darlington. She enjoyed traveling and fishing with Homer, as well as, reading mystery novels, gardening and feeding the birds. Naomi was an avid card player. She especially enjoyed spending Christmas Eve with her family and New Years with her friends playing cards, and spending her winters in Florida. Naomi was a devoted mother and grandmother, who always had time for her family. She will be remembered for her English tea biscuits and sour cream tarts. Naomi will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, August 19, 2010, at 1:30 P.M. at Immanuel United Church of Christ, 339 East Louisa Street in Darlington with Rev. Kathleen Rinear officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery in Darlington. A visitation will be held Thursday, August 19, 2010, from 11:30 A.M. until the time of service at the church.
