Mary Maureen Bruce, age 71, of Monroe, passed away on Friday, February 12, 2016 at her home. She was born on May 21, 1944 in Madison, the daughter of Mary Burris. Mary received her G.E.D. and graduated from Fennimore Technical School.

Mary and William Bruce were married on June 6, 1980.

She was employed at Industrial Combustion in the Shipping and Processing Department from 1978 - 2008.

Mary was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish. She enjoyed reading, needlepoint, crafts, camping and fishing with her husband at Yellowstone Lake. She also enjoyed collecting salt and pepper shakers.

She is survived by her children: Kathy Shebelbon (David) Klitzke) of Monroe, Nancy Ellison, of Monroe, Kristina (Jerry) Gunser of Westfield, WI; Kenneth (Lisa) Bruce of Madison, James (Veronica) Bruce of Monroe, 8 grandchildren: William, Johnathon, Abigail, Alyssa, Jacob, Sydney, McKenzie and Kyle.

She was predeceased by her mother, husband, William, and granddaughter, Heather Ellison.

Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at St. Clare of Assisi Parish at 11:00 a.m. at St. Victor Catholic Church, with Fr. Michael E. Klarer as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday, February, 15th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home 1455 Mansion Dr., and 18th Ave., in Monroe.

A memorial fund is being established in Mary's memory.
